Portals - a temporary public art exhibition
The Vine Lake Cemetery hosts the temporary outdoor public art exhibition Portals featuring large scale work by five artists: Jim Coates, Danielle Krcmar, Andrea Thompson, Bevan Weissman, and Leslie Wilcox. Portals conveys tangible or symbolic entrance to new life and each artist is creating imaginative new work specific to the site and theme out of sticks, stones, clay, steel screen, and wood. For hundreds of years, sculpture has been an essential feature in cemeteries where artisans were commissioned to create individual and family memorials. Portals is planned to revive the century-old practice of engaging artists to design work for this picturesque setting. Artwork is located on the grassy setting near the lake, visible from the entrance on Rte. 109.

Gingerbread House Class for Kids
“Build Christmas Memories” – this is the one Christmas experience your child will talk about for year to come and will never forget!

The 8th Annual parent-child gingerbread house making class with the pastry chef from Zebra's Bistro.

Each parent-child team receives handmade gingerbread pieces to assemble and decorate under the guidance of Zebra's pastry chef and staff. The house is yours to keep and to use as a centerpiece for your Christmas celebration. The experience will become a wonderful memory that will last forever for both you and your child!

The class is 1˝ hours long and the price is $45 total which covers both the parent and one child. Recommended for children ages 6 and up since some patience and a steady hand are needed to construct the house -- older children love this class as well. (A meticulous 5 year old would also enjoy themselves with a little extra help from Mom or Dad).
